There are different procedures for the middle school application and the high school. Each process is described separately—middle school (sixth grade) and high school (ninth grade).
Sign up for middle school tours starting September 14th.
Procedures for Entrance into Sixth Grade
Step 1: Come for an Open House
District Two parents are invited to sign up for a Middle School tour. You will meet our teachers and students as well as Stacy Goldstein our principal. All open houses are confirmed on a first come, first served basis. Register below.
Due to the high demand for placement in School of the Future as well as personnel constraints, we are unable to take requests over the phone. At open house events, we will be happy to answer any questions you may have as well as help you with the middle school process.
Step 2: Apply to School of the Future
District Two Fifth Graders: List School of the Future on your middle school application that you receive from your elementary school teacher or guidance counselor. We will review applications according to students’ preference – that is, applicants who list SOF as their first, second or third choice will receive priority.
Step 3: Come for an Interview
The date for Middle School interviews is TBD. For those families who ranked School of the Future 1st, 2nd, or 3rd choice on their Middle School applications and did not receive an invitation, please email us
Once we have received the middle school applications from District Two, we will contact families for an interview. Again, SOF is in high demand, and we interview only students who list us as one of their top three choices on their middle school application. Over-the-counter applicants will be contacted for an interview only if a seat becomes available in the appropriate grade at a later time and only if you have filed a placement exemption request with the District Two office.
SOF is a screened program with priority to District Two students.
