Below please find the link for the enrollment application in one pdf file. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE PACKET.  It contains everything you need to know about how program will operate this year.  The first half of the packet contains information about program.  The second contains forms you must complete and submit back to us.

By Email:

In Person:

  • Beginning Monday, 8/21, there will be an enrollment packet drop off box in the SOF main office.  However, we strongly encourage you to submit electronically if possible.

How to Obtain the Enrollment Packet:

OR Email [email protected] to request one.

After Submission:

  • You will receive an email confirming that we have received your application.
  • Please allow up to 3 business days for a response.

Enrollment Packet  Guidelines:

  • If you do not have access to a scanner, we recommend downloading a free scanner app on your smartphone.  Most apps have an option to scan all documents into one pdf file. We cannot accept applications as multiple pages/files.
  • Complete everything. Please do not leave anything blank.  Doing so will result in delays when processing your application.
  • Remember that many pages are two-sided.
  • Please print clearly and legibly.
  • We will not process incomplete applications.  Please review the packet thoroughly before submitting.
  • We strongly prefer electronic submissions, however we do accept in person drop offs.

Robotics team planning out robot route

SOF RC, our HS Robotics Club, participated in the second qualifier of the Robotics citywide competition, First Tech Challenge. The event took place at Dalton School on Sunday, February 19th and gathered 24  robotics teams from public and private schools who competed to qualify in the 2016/2017 NYC Robotics Championship.

As a rookie team we did well against experienced teams.  Our students built a fast robot that scored points each game by hitting the beacon buttons on the challenge field.  During Match 2 one wheel fell off but our robot was able to still move to finish up the round.

Coach/Mentor: Mr. Irimina and Jim Chin

SOF RC student participants: Henry Ramos (12 & Team Coordinator), Nick Wood (12), Alden Radoncic (12), Van James Huynh (11), Thomas Zuckerman (10), Ethan Ng (10), Allen Delgado (10), Carson Koppel (10), Farhath Anzum (9), Celina Niemann (9), and Anwesha Dhara (9).

Goals for the remainder of this year and next is to design a lift mechanism, learn more programming.
The Robotic Club meets: after school every Monday and Wednesday in room 103.
