On March 1st at SOF, Senior Institute students used their math and science skills to participate in a nationwide 12-hour competition sponsored by the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics.
They had to create a mathematical model to evaluate education choices to address the question “STEM Sells: What is higher education really worth?” They investigated how mathematical modeling can show the cost, return, and value of a college education.
