In collaboration with Children’s Museum of the Arts teaching artists, Eliza Martin and Laura Mann, Ms. Janine’s 9th grade Studio Art classes spent last fall/winter making music videos that spanned the history of Pop and Rock n’ Roll. They picked their favorite popular songs from the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s, and devised a concept and storyline for their video that reflected the research they did on the cultural and historical touchstones from each decade. Using Canon Rebel cameras, the students directed each scene, and mixed their live-action footage with stop-motion animated sequences in post-production, with Final Cut Pro.
