SOF RC, our HS Robotics Club, participated in the second qualifier of the Robotics citywide competition, First Tech Challenge. The event took place at Dalton School on Sunday, February 19th and gathered 24 robotics teams from public and private schools who competed to qualify in the 2016/2017 NYC Robotics Championship.
As a rookie team we did well against experienced teams. Our students built a fast robot that scored points each game by hitting the beacon buttons on the challenge field. During Match 2 one wheel fell off but our robot was able to still move to finish up the round.
