SOF Robotics Team Ranked 4th in the NYC Robotics Championship

The end of the First Tech Challenge Robotics Season is over in NYC and SOF Robotics Team ranked an amazing 4th place out of 30 best teams in the city and a total of 79 NYC teams that participated in the tournament. This places SOF ahead of more seasoned teams with larger budgets and resources such as Stuyvesant HS, Forest Hills High School, Manhattan Center for Science and Mathematics, or private schools such as The Browning School and Horace Mann School.
On Sunday February 18, SOF RC participated in the third qualifier of the season at Dalton and got two awards: Judges Awards and The Finalist award in the competition. Our students Van James Huynh ( team captain), Carson Koppel and Farhath Anzum impressed everybody with their performance and we made it into the NYC runoffs the following Sunday, February, 25 at Morris Townsend HS in Flushing, Queens. Here is a link to the final ranking
This was an amazing performance for a second year team. Our students made friends with other teams, did an awesome job of working together and had a blast at each event. Thanks to Mr Fanning and our school Parent Association for supporting our team and Mr. Irimina and Mr Chin for mentoring our students.
