Our Girls Varsity Volleyball team has won several PSAL division championships. They compete against schools through the city and participate in many tournaments throughout the season. Here, senior captain Raven Callendar rises above all for the block.
SOF Boys Soccer
School of the Future has started a partnership with NY Sports Clubs that allows our 11th and 12th graders a chance to use the gym during their last period elective time.
They get full access to the facility. Mike Wexler, SOF Athletic Director, is also there to help them use the equipment safely and correctly.
High School Sports
School of the Future currently has nine teams that compete in the Public School Athletic League (PSAL), including boys and girls varsity basketball, boys junior varsity basketball, boys and girls varsity soccer, boys and girls varsity volleyball, boys varsity baseball, and girls varsity softball. Our teams compete against schools from all five boroughs, and routinely beat some of the biggest schools in the city! Every year our school celebrates division championships and playoffs with exciting pep rallies, making athletics an integral part of the SOF community.
Middle School Sports
contact: Amanda Ebokosia
School of the Future boasts a fantastic Middle School sports program, offering an array of team and individual sports in which students can participate. The program is a perfect way to introduce and expose the students to a variety of different activities. Here, the students have the opportunity to explore their interests and discover which sports they thoroughly enjoy. They also compete against other Middle Schools, often making it into district playoffs. Students can then hone their skills in the sport(s) of their choice as they move into the highly competitive High School level.
The Middle School program includes girls softball, boys baseball, boys and girls basketball, and boys and girls soccer, as well as a fitness club. The Middle School also participates in a citywide track-and-field program. The fitness club is an After School Program in which the students participate in a different activity every week for approximately two hours. The track-and-field program consists of three competitions during the spring. The events are held during the day and the students are bused to the event with a coach to compete against other schools throughout the area in a variety of track-and-field events.
We cannot say enough positive things about the Middle School sports program. We are proud to be involved with all the great athletes and sports that make up the program and look forward to continuing to watch the program grow and thrive for many years to come.
