Admissions to School of the Future’s middle school (6thgrade) and high school (9th grade) differ, with a separate application process for each. 

School of the Future’s Middle School (grades 6-8) is open to students in all of New York City’s boroughs for 6th grade admissions. There is no application, interview, or rubric requirements. A student/family simply ranks SOF as part of their list (ordered by preference) in their MySchools account. The DOE enrollment office then places students by lottery. 

School of the Future’s main office and other administrative offices are unable to communicate about admissions by phone or email due to the high demand for placement at SOF. For guidance on admissions to SOF, as well as other NYC schools, please visit MySchools.
